FIFCO USA is a beer company that is a child company of FIFCO which is based in Costa Rica. I worked with their Rochester and Buffalo branches over the 2022 summer as a remote Graphic Design Intern. The Trade marketing team was excited as me since I was their first intern.
While the experience was remote, I had multiple opportunities to work in-person and meet the team. We did volunteer work for the local Buffalo community as well, which is a frequent effort of the company.

I found myself quickly immersed in my assignments as an intern designer. Introductory tasks were given to give me a direction of how the designers created requested material. Natalie was quick to help me as I felt out my new role. Together we tackled a variety of needed assets ranging from billboard displays, sweepstakes advertisements, baseball schedules, and even cooler stickers.

KEY SOFTWARE USED
Adobe Illustrator
Assembled compositions and develop needed POS material
Adobe Photoshop
Adjust images or edit brand assets

Labatt collaborates with many, MANY sports teams and I had the joy of assembling their partnered designs.

As a portfolio piece, I was given the task to design a potential poster the Genesee Brewhouse could use in celebration of it's upcoming anniversary. Using the mascot of the Genesee Brewery brand, Genny, I illustrated her off
from her normal maid role. She gets to sit down and relax instead of serving
the drinks. I found her to be a cute and charming pinup gal that needed to
be brought back in association to the brand. She's got so much room to
be explored in a modern perspective and I hope this could be a push for
that potential imagery.

REFLECTION
Before this internship, I didn't know what I desired in a job in the design field. I knew I wanted to do any form of art and that was about it. After my final day in August, I left with defined standards of what I needed as a working graphic designer. They established the full possibilities of a healthy atmosphere, work-life balance, and respect from their employer. I also learned the pros and cons of in-house design, which I personally enjoyed. I'm more than happy with what I was able to learn and take away from this experience, and aim to find myself working for a company just as great.
